Tyson Mathews- CEO of Porter Green & J.T. Rivers Real Estate

Tyson Mathews developed leadership qualities at an early age as the oldest of 7 children and in his years of service as a United States Marine. Tyson obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, emphasis in Finance, from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Mathews has a natural talent of engaging, communicating, motivating, and leading people. He has held management positions since he was 19 years old, aspiring to one day own his own company. Today, Tyson owns several businesses and partnerships in multiple industries. His focus has always been to build a network and infrastructure of professionals that can execute high valued operations for his companies and his investors. Tyson’s mission is to create opportunities for both private and industry partners to generate long term residual income, grow a multi-faceted business, develop legacy assets, and provide generational wealth to everyone involved. Mathews not only has a complete understanding of what it takes to advance Porter Green’s agenda, but has proven to have the skills to bring our company to further success.  



Jay W. Pledger: President of Operations

Jay Wayne Pledger brings almost 20 years of experience to Porter Green from his extensive history in the oil and gas industry. Jay Wayne has been instrumental in the development in over 150 wells across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, and New Zealand. As a result, Mr. Pledger has a diverse background with expertise in a variety of wells including, vertical, horizontal, extended and triple lateral operations, along with developing in the prolific Permian and Fort Worth Basin. 

Jay Wayne, as a family man, has developed strategic plans to build what he refers to as “Legacy Assets” for the company and partners. Through his experiences, Jay has prided himself in the education he has received over the years working directly with prestigious Geologists and Engineers in developing high producing fields. Jay's industry knowledge is vital to our company and will continue to bring intrinsic value for us into the future. 


Mike Buquoi: Executive Vice President of Sales

Mike started his career in 2001 with one of the nation’s largest oil and gas securities firms, where he began working with various industry professionals including geologists, petroleum engineers, geophysicists and sales professionals. At Porter Green, Mr. Buquoi is focused on private equity management and educating financiers across the United States. He has worked closely with investors for over 15 years, managing and putting together investment strategies and guiding them through an array of projects. Mr. Buquoi supports several charities including The North Texas Food Bank, Shriners Hospital for Children, SPCA of Texas, and The Beautify America Project. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children and supporting his home sports teams. 



Company Managers

John Caruana: Operations Manager

John began his career in the Oil&Gas industry in 2003, where he funded, developed and produced over 150 wells in the Barnett Shale in North Texas, as well as the highly productive, Wilcox and Frio Sands of South Texas.

John later spent two years as the General Manager of a well servicing company in the Permian Basin in west Texas. It is here, where he gained valuable insights  to the oil field operations side of production, completion, well servicing, work-over and P&A.  John supervised 180 employees, and provided oversight on 15 work-over rigs, five reverse units and 20 saltwater removal trucks.

John's true passion is Oil&Gas production, royalties and real estate finance and funding, as it relates to our investors. In 2003 he earned his series 63 and 22 in general securities and direct participation in private placements.  John has extensive experience working directly with investors. He advises, updates and keeps partners and clients abreast of all areas of Porter Green and JT Rivers' operations, current holdings and new acquisitions. 


Don Amaker: Portfolio Manager

Mr. Amacker began his career in the broadcast construction industry specializing in design, fabrication and construction of television and radio towers to 2000’ feet in height.  In addition, he installed massive television and radio antenna arrays and provided continued maintenance and emergency repairs to maintain the station(s) on-air status.

After 30-years in the broadcast industry, Mr. Amacker retired and decided to take it easy.  This didn’t last long, in 2008 he discovered the oil & gas industry.

Mr. Amacker entered the energy sector by accepting the ownership challenge of a multi-well project.  He specializes in business management and the identification and acquisition of suitable partnerships in the investment industry. Mr. Amacker has been successful in building a multitude of business partnerships in the oil and gas industry. 

Mr. Amacker is happily married to Dee for 32-years, has one daughter, and two grandchildren.  Mr. Amacker is active in his church and community. 


Chad Potter- Sales and Marketing Director

With over a decade of achievement in business development and project management leadership roles with companies in construction, real estate, and oil & gas, Mr. Potter is a proven team leader, manager, mentor and motivator skilled in developing high-performance sales and project management operations. 

Mr. Potter received his MBA from the University of Denver and his undergraduate degree in Construction Management from BYU.


Taylor Blegen: Public Relations Manager

Taylor Blegen works with his team to develop new relationships with investors and industry partners. Mr. Blegen plays a big role in helping with our focus on growth and creating opportunities to build a solid network of individuals and partner companies. Adam Butcher: Consultant- Infield Royalty/E.L.S. 

Adam earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Texas State University. He has over 15 years experience in managing oil and gas projects in 17 States: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, Kansas, Wyoming, Mississippi, Colorado, North Dakota, Nebraska, Illinois, Utah, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and Louisiana. His experiences include lease acquisitions, title work, due diligence, regulatory body negotiation, federal/state/municipal bidding and auctions, mineral/royalty acquisitions, ROW acquisition, A&D and management of producing properties, and has managed project teams of 250 or more landsmen in both rural and urban environments. Adam is a member of AAPL, FWAPL, HAPL, and a Certified Professional Landman (CPL) 


Dr. Robert Miles: Consultant- Infield Royalty/LGT

Dr. Miles earned his B.S. with distinction from the US Naval Academy and then obtained his PhD in Material Physics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He worked with NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab and IBM's Research Center at Yorktown Heights to develop remote material characterization. He Later went on to work with: McKinsey and Company and focused in Risk Analysis and Management for some of the major oil and gas companies in the industry; Koch Industries for new technology and development; Hunt Oil and Sevin Rosen Funds and finally LGT Corporation for Evaluation of oil and gas exploration. 


Brandon Brotherton: Consultant- Infield Royalty/E.L.S. 

Brandon is a graduate of the University of North Texas. His experience as a landman includes extensive leasing and title research in Texas, in particular West Texas and the north Texas Barnett Shale play. He is also experienced in Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, New Mexico and Kansas. Brandon has experience in both rural and urban areas.

Brandon is a strong leader and has managed dozens of landmen and multiple prospects for Eagle. His primary focus is in leasing both commercial and residential tracts for Eagle’s clients. Clients and teammates alike appreciate Brandon’s strong work ethic, commitment to service and integrity. Brandon is a member of the AAPL and FWAPL.

Scott Bean-Chief Operations Officer - J.T. Rivers Real Estate

Scott Bean brings more than 15 years of real estate and entrepreneurial experience to our clients. He set the foundation for what would later become known as J.T. Rivers Real Estate, after successfully purchasing and managing residential real estate on a personal level. Scott has help build this multi- faceted business that provides real estate investment opportunities after his personal real estate investments in the Illinois, Texas and Florida markets. Before his career in real estate, Scott started out in the aerospace industry, managing the sales and business development of a company that went from $20 million to $100 million dollars before its successful acquisition in 2005. Since 2000 Scott has successfully bought and sold real estate from coast to coast. His current personal strategy is a combination of x and ips as well as buy and hold for passive income. Scott is also a contributing member for BiggerPockets, the nation’s leading real estate educational forum. His passion is working with clients to help de ne their purpose for investing in real estate. 


Ralph Andrus- Executive Contractor- J.T. Rivers Real Estate

Ralph now has over 40 years of construction and management experience. As a General Contractor he developed raw land into turn key products. He has been a construction manager for high end custom homes and has been in responsible for residential projects of over $30,000,000. He has a CDL and can operate most heavy equipment. He has worked with government agencies such as HUD and the Corp of Engineers. He has extensive experience and skills in off-site improvements including engineering, plans, and profiles. For years he has worked on multifamily, condos and dormitories bringing them in on time and under budget. His greatest joy is flying his airplane.


Ryan Tidwell- Project Management Director- J.T. Rivers Real Estate

Ryan began his passion for construction and real estate as a young boy watching his grandfather, a general contractor, remodel and build homes. Today, Ryan has more than 10 years’ construction experience, 6 years’ general management experience, and 5 years’ experience in project management and business ownership. Ryan is proficient in all aspects of construction, some of which include: framing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, sheet rock, painting, finish carpentry, interior design, roofing, and landscaping. He is also knowledgeable in bid procedures, estimation, and is compliant with safety requirements, and building codes. Adept at directing multiple projects simultaneously, he consistently completes projects on time and within budget. His ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients ensures competitive pricing on materials and labor. Ryan knows all aspects of the process beginning at the steps of the courthouse, through demolition and renovation and on to the sale of the property. Ryan knows how to flip a property.

Don Capener- Franchise Development

Don Capener was selected as dean at Jacksonville University- Davis College of Business in 2011. Under his leadership, graduate enrollment has doubled and a doctorate of business administration was established. A serial entrepreneur, Capener founded Above the Rim Hoopwear, and was the 7th employee and CMO of Netcentives in San Francisco. He also started a marketing agency that became San Diego’s third largest.  Dean Capener worked in marketing management and agency roles for Leo Burnett/Frankel, Visa, PayPal, and Reebok. His first startup sold to Reebok and his second start-up, Netcentives, went public via NASDAQ in 1999. While at Netcentives, he helped drive the marketing architecture and developed systems and technology solutions to distribute airline miles as rewards for online purchases and as employee bonuses.

Dr. Capener was the professor of the year at Monmouth College. He taught international business and marketing for a total of 11 years and was promoted to Vice President over academic initiatives and international programs in 2008. Capener led Jacksonville’s growth in international programs forging tight collaborations with Waseda University in Tokyo, Kingston University in London, and the European Business School in Germany. He is a popular professor teaching strategic management, entrepreneurism, and international marketing. Dean Capener is a recognized business leader in North Florida and a thought leader/influencer in LinkedIn. He earned a PhD from the International School of Management in Paris, France. Dr. Capener holds masters and bachelor’s degrees from Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.


Ben Andrus -Franchise Operations

Ben Andrus graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors Degree studying both Business Management and Foreign Language. He worked with the LDS church in Mexico to develop and manage over 40 church personnel to execute processes for mission effectiveness. Ben then consulted for major retailers and manufacturers to help with employee development, create project scheduling, increase production , and became known as "The Problem Solver". Mr. Andrus has been specifically trained to ameliorate efficiency processes and reduce waste. Ben's dream has always been to own his own business. Partnering with our company has given him the ability to not only accomplish his goal but the partnership brings immense value to our investors. Lastly, one of Ben's proudest achievements is holding weight lifting records for two different weight classes, lifting both 285 and 305.
